MBSA believes in fostering a culture of upliftment and Ubuntu or humanity towards others.

MBSA recognizes the importance of creating access to education in South Africa and therefore is committed to the meaningful development and implementation of adult's basic education and training through a focused, deliberate, integrated ABET positioning strategy. ABET (Adult Basic Education and Training) is an education and training programme that provides numeracy and literacy education to adults.

Assistance and donations are provided to charities and communities throughout the year, including Mandela Day. Clothing, food and supplies are donated on an ongoing basis to Bula Mahlo orphanage in Tembisa.  Water supply projects, such as the water tank and rainwater harvesting system that was purchased and installed for Ethembalethu Township in Muldersdrift, have provided an alternate water source to counteract rising water costs and shortages.

"What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead." -  Nelson Mandela
